The Race
The Winter Trail Gaeaf powered by SUUNTO will take place on Saturday February 15th 2025.
Our 2024 race sold out and following 5* route and event experience reviews from runners last we expect the 800 places to be snapped-up fast!
Launched in 2024 this new 7-mile route received rave reviews for it's challenging terrain but stunning beauty, as it takes in some wonderful singletracks and footpaths in the beauty of the world-renowned Coed y Brenin Forest Park in the Eryri National Park. Featuring such highlights as Goshawk, Ferndale, Slab climb, Karrimor descent and of course the wonderful Sting in the Tail!
Priced at £29 (plus online booking fee) we feel that Winter Trail Gaeaf represents one of the best value-for-money trail events on the race calendar.

** Entries to the 2025 race will open on the 5th of July at our early bird offer price of £26 (plus online booking fee) until the 31st of July - a saving of 15% on our standard pricing of £29 (plus online booking fee) which will kick-in on August 1st. **
Of course, you could be looking at snow, frost, crystal clear blue skies or rain and mud, and that is the beauty of this wonderful forest habitat, we won’t know ’til race day. What we do know is that you can expect the same great organisation, welcome, atmosphere of our much-loved Coed y Brenin trail running events.

** NOTE ** should the Winter Trail Gaeaf event have to be postponed due to an extreme weather event an alternative Autumn race date will be arranged. Runners will also be offered a transfer to another Run Coed y Brenin race event, such as the Goldrush Trail or Trail Half Hanner ***
Runner's race number and any sponsor goodies will be handed out at race registration on Friday and Saturday WE DO NOT POST these items out.
Runners should be a minimum age of 16 years on race day
NOTE: Payment for parking at Coed y Brenin is now via ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) and a barrier system. Payment is taken as you LEAVE the venue and you should use one of the number of payment stations via card or cash.

Winter Trail Gaeaf utilises as many local suppliers and contractors as possible and aim to ensure that the local economy and mid-Wales community is affected in positive manner by the event, with that support hopefully being reciprocated ensuring that Winter Trail Gaeaf is an event that the local and national Welsh community can be proud of in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK.
Being on a Saturday, we also hope that may runners and families will stay on for the weekend in one of the numerous local hostels, cabins, hotels and bed and breakfasts that surround Coed y Brenin.
